Subscribe to Served FileMaker calendars from Mac or Windows machines.
In addition to exporting our Calendar appointments and to-dos to iCal
(such exporting is built into the Pro calendars) you can also subscribe
to our Calendar using iCal (Mac) or Sunbird (Windows). Think of this
as yet another way to publish read-only calendars online.

SeedCode Calendar in Sunbird on Windows
Thanks to the vCal XSLT template from myFMbutler.com,
you only have to make a couple small changes to SeedCode Calendar
(2 new fields and 2 new layouts) and then place an .xls file
on your FMSA Server. This is all documented in our free
iCal Subscription Kit. This kit also comes with a version
of myFMbutlers xslt style sheet: one specifically modified
to work with our Calendar.
Once youve set this up, you can subscribe to your calendar
in various ways, even creating subscriptions for just one users
items and/or one type of item. iCal will let you set the frequency
with which youd like these items refreshed and iCal can even
act as a gateway to other interfaces: letting you see your appointments
in Dashboard or Konfabulator widgets, for instance. A list of
a few compatible widgets is included in the PDF from our kit.

Checkout a live demo of SeedCode Calendar being served using FileMaker Server Advanced. Note, our demo only has sample data from July of 2003, so be sure you navigate back to that date once you've subscribed. You'll also notice that our subscription URL has a "find" in it: using this technique you can subscribe to any found set within the calendar. Here is the information you'll need:
Account Name: seedcoderss
URL: Subscribe to SeedCode Calendar
Requires one of our Pro calendars as well as FileMaker
Server with CWP (custom web publishing) enabled. That means Server Advanced for 8.5 or just Server for 9. For information
on enabling CWP in FMSA, download this PDF
from FileMaker, Inc. On the client, you'll need either iCal
(Mac) or Sunbird
(Windows) is required; fortunately both are free. Running Widgets requires
a Mac with either Konfabulator
or Mac OS 10.4x (Tiger).
Our free iCal Subscription
Kit contains everything you'll need to get started; download
it from the Utilities section of our downloads page. This kit includes
the .xsl sheet you'll need as well as step by step instructions for
modifying our Calendar to get this up and running.
If you need to go further, you can look at the original version of myFMbutler's
to vCal XSLT kit and use it as a template for subscribing to other
FileMaker Pro databases.
