FileMaker Charts

New Version of Fusion Charts for FileMaker

Beautiful Chart Examples

Fusion Charts has just released a new version of their Pro Charting package for FileMaker, including simpler example files and urls. These sexy, flash -based charts run in a web viewer without the need for an internet connection: there is even a free version that includes more charts types than most people will ever need. If you have not see these yet, you owe it to yourself to get familiar with them.

And if you need a little charting inspiration, check out these charts put together by Tim Graham as part of the Personal Visualization Project. Not done with FileMaker, as far as I know, but humbling.

SeedCode in Tokyo

Working with Splash and Speaking at the Apple Store in Ginza

We just got back from Tokyo where we worked with Shin Ninagawa (DevCon 2008 Excellence Award Winner) on the next version of our Japanese Calendar. Shin invited us to speak at a couple venues including FileMaker Fun Night at the Apple Store in Ginza, which has been running for 3 years courtesy of sevensdoor: definitely a thrill and an honor. Having worked with Shin for a couple years now, it was great to finally get to see her in Japan and visit Splash's offices. Shin and Koji from Splash were fantastic hosts and I wish I could work beside them more often!

We've put together a short movie demonstrating our Japanese calendar, including a demo of the Instant Web Publishing Module running on an iPhone.

Street closed in Ginza, Tokyo.

fmSpark in the Press

Bolt-On Mail Merge Utility reviewed by FileMaker Magazine

There is a great review of fmSpark at FileMaker Magazine, including an in-depth, real time demo of fmSpark functionality. This is an excellent overview of what fmSpark can bring to your FileMaker solutions. Check it out here: fmSpark video review.

Sneak Peak: SeedCode Hierarchy

Easily add hierarchies and trees to your files

Movie of SeedCode Hierarchy Beta

We're putting the finishing touches on our next unlocked template.

SeedCode Hierarchy will let you depict your relational data as a hierarchy. And best of all, it can be pasted into your file and show any relational data you have.

Our new hierarchy should be ready soon, but don't hesitate to get in touch now if you have any questions about where you might be able to use it.

Skills-Based Searching

Find FileMaker Developers

Launched at DevCon 2008, FindFileMakerDevelopers (FFD) continues to refine their search options for locating FileMaker tallent. (Their search page is also one of the slickest PHP-FileMaker sites out there: check out the skill-drill-down on the left hand side.)

They've also just announced a new perk for FFD and FMPug members, offering discounts on professionally written success stories.
