Does CC Calendar have any Date Limits?
Applicable Versions: Full, Pro.
The main calendar (Day, Week, and Month views) is perpetual. You can view and create appointments for any date FileMaker can understand. The mini-calendars? and year view are coded differently to make them faster. These views are currently limited to show items from 1/1/1968 to 1/1/2025. These ranges can be easily extended by modifying the two “reset days” scripts in CC Calendar before performing a full reset (hold down the shift key while clicking the reset button). If you’d rather we extend these dates for you, please just let us know.
Does CC Calendar support European Date formats?
Applicable Versions: Free, Full, Pro.
Yes. FileMaker’s built in European Date format support is sufficient for all versions of CC Calendar. (This was not the case in our FM6 version where we had to have a special “Use European Date Formats option”.)
FileMaker offers a menu item in the Format section called “Use System Formats”. Selecting this menu will cause FileMaker to display dates according to your system formats: CC Calendar sets this menu item to “on” in its open scripts. Note that the menu option is dim if your system formats are the same as those used to create the system you’re opening.
You can elect to have the Calendar’s week start on Monday if you wish. Simply select that option on the About / Settings tab of CC Calendar.
Note. You may wish to force CC Calendar to use your system settings natively. If that is the case you’ll want to save a clone of the CC Calendar file on a computer set up with the date formatting you desire. This refreshes the FileMaker file’s date structure as if the file was originally created on your computer. After creating a clone you’ll need to restore the calendar’s global graphics (see Interface) and press the “reset” button in the lower right corner of the month view.
CC Calendar can help restore the calendar’s global values and settings. Before making your clone, run the script “Backup Interface, Colors, etc.” from CCCalendar. Then run the script “Restore from Backup” after making your clone and resetting the calendar. (It may be easier to just import these records from an uncloned copy of CC Calendar.)
Here are the steps for making a clone and a performing a complete reset.
