Please use this wiki as a blog for your design decisions as you're building chat. Instructions for editing pages, etc. can be found here. After creating a few entries you'll fine editing here is second nature.
Your comments don't need to be customer facing; write them for me or you, explaining why you're doing what you're doing, and pointing out integration / modification options as they occur to you. Especially important would be any features that are latent in the code. For example, in our calendar the resources for an event are formatted as a drop down list, but by changing that to checkboxes you can enter return separated lists of resources and our calendar understands that. It was important to note that in the blog: that return separated lists of resources are supported.
In any event, please do blog your design decisions. You'll find this to be a *very* helpful practice.
