Hi from France,
I apologize for my English
It's a great function, really professional. In fact it's difficult for me to understand everything, but it's working nicely.
I have problem when printing. The name of the printing document (even in "pdf") becomes "BackMagicDemo". At the beginning, I thought it was because, i'd just copy the model. So I start from scratch my work and in the same time using "separate model" for datas, following your explanations (I'd spend 1 day to understand but it's working fine now!).
I test printing with my new base : evething OK, the name of printing is the name of my base. But, after I don't know what, it's printing again "BackMagicDemo". It's a brand new base, with separates data ( printing is still good for this base) I'd just create functions (paste, copy) with some background elements (for zz.BackMagic.cr). I can't find were is this problem, I need help, Please… :?

Hello. (Your English sounds great to me.)

FileMaker is terrible at naming printed layouts, scripts, etc. You’ll likely have to change this by hand when you make a pdf, or script the name of your pdf when you print it. If you haven’t scripted file names for pdfs before, check out the following section in FileMaker’s built in help: Contents > Creating a database > Using variables

Hope that helps.

Hello John,
Many thanks for your quick and comprehensible answer. I'd have a first look to the help and I will read it carefully and try to understand the way to use variables for my purpose. FM8.5A is a big discovery for me, because I'd stop developing with FMP5.5 10 years ago! As I have another question for you (commercial matter) may I mail you somewhere?
Regards
