I am trying to figure out how to keep hierarchy from un-maximizing my window so I can have a smooth maximized experience for my user - is this possible?

Hi,
This is related to how FileMaker has "chosen" to treat multiple windows on Windows. You're noticing that if any one window is Maximized and you (or your script) draws an un-maximized window, then the previously maximized window resizes itself also, usually in an unpleasant way. Short of FileMaker fixing this, the solution is either to have all windows maximized, which means no small pop-up windows, or to have the main window in your solution "nearly" maximized instead. This would mean making the window as big as possible without actually maximizing it. We have a script to do this in our calendars and you can use this in your solution also, replacing any maximize window commands with a call to this script (attached). Hope that helps. - John John Sindelar
