using Filemaker 7

General support questions.

How can we upgrade from Filemaker6 to filwmaker7 and using all the tables without re defining the fields again, one file may contain many related tables in filemaker6, to put them together in filemker7 we have re define all the tables and the import all the data and then re define the relation ship. is there any way to do it in one goal.

Migrating from FileMaker 6 or earlier to FileMaker 7 or 8 is a complicated issue, and moving tables into one file is really the least of the concerns.

Tables can be compied and pasted as can scripts and fields in FileMaker 8.

The more important issues are getting everything converted properly.

I would suggest reading some of the whitepapers on FileMaker's website that discuss the issue in greater detail. Here
