Hello Everybody,
just a quick question.
My database is running on FM8 client.
We access it using the web.
Can I export a record to pdf using the web interface?
Everytime i click the button it does not do anything.
Priveleges are all set up to allow printing.
Please advise.

Thanks,
Helmut

Helmut,

Unfortunately the "Save Records as PDF" script step is not web compatable. There is a checkbox at the bottom of the list of script steps to help indicate web compatability, and in this case, the step is just not available for web deployment.

There are some advanced techniques for accomplishing this, but none of them use IWP to my knowledge.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for the quick response.
I'm assuming that the Excel export does not work from the web interface either.

Thanks,

Someone told me that there is a plug-in for FM8 that makes it possible to import a multipage pdf-file into one container and after that turn over the pages in the pdf-file in the container window.

Has any one in this forum any knowledge about such a plug-in?

There was some discussion of this in Jeff Benjamin's IWP session at DevCon, but the product Jeef was referring to is not yet available.

Outside of IWP this can be accomplished by saving a PDF to a specific path and then referencing that path in FileMaker 8.5's web viewer. This gives you much better page control of the PDF than you'd find in a container field.

I must admit that my question was unnecessary. What I am looking for is avalibale in the FM8 advanced I am using on my macintosh. Contrary to what the swedish FM support told me.

I import a folder via [File/Import/Folder]. When a multipage PDF-file is imported into a container, a control is revealed in the bottom of the container with which I can turn over the pages.

I am happy again.

Sorry to disturb the forum.
