Maybe this is too complicated, but I'm using CC Calendar Scheduling Edition to schedule some meeting rooms and other resources. I would like to be able to have users submit events which only appear on the calendar if first approved by an administrator.

Any ideas on how to do this?

Sure. Three approaches...

1. You could have a type called "Unapproved" and then filter the calendar to hide unapproved items. (Remember the calendar filters can show or hide the filtered items).

2. You could add a new field to the appointments table (CCCalAppts) called "Approved" where an approved item would have a "1" in this field. Then use FileMaker's built in Access Privileges to restrict most of your users from seeing items where Approved does not equal 1. (One would assume that the approvers would still be able to see unapproved items.) For more on using Access Privileges in this way, see this post.

3. If nobody needs to see unapproved items in the calendar you could create a field for approved as described in 2 above and add this to the calendar's relationship match criteria so that part of the relationship criteria was that CommonOne (in the table "Calendar") equaled Approved (in the table CCCalAppts).
