GoZync4

Sample Files

Quick Contact

GoZync comes with a simple contacts file that you can use both to demo the Zync and as a place to copy scripts from. There are some scripts you may want in your file, such as scripts to trigger a zync, check for a new version of the file, etc.

QuickContacts is pretty simple: it has a few fields about the contact, a place to record a few photos, and a notes field. It's not a fully fleshed out contact manager, but more like something you'd use to quickly capture the people you met at a trade show. (We used it this way at DevCon 2012.)

There is also a very simple hosted version of QuickContact in the Host folder. The version of QuickContact in the Local folder is the one that goes on your iPhone, iPad, or laptop and runs offline except when you need to sync.

You'll find a set of layouts optimized for iPad, and a set for iPhone. Instructions for moving the scripts here into your own file can be found in our integration articles.

Removing the sample file

LowZync, the free version of GoZync, only supports syncing a single Table Occurrence and ships with our example QuickContact file already syncing. If you want to sync your file instead you'll need to stop syncing QuickContact or purchase a GoZync license. Here is how to remove QuickContact from the sync before you move on to check your work:

First, you may want to make a backup of these files incase you'd like to refer to a copy with QuickContact integrated.
Next, head over to GoZyncMobile and go to the relationship graph again. Change the prefixes for the two QuickContact table occurrences by putting an "x" in front of their names so they become "xgzh_Contact" and "xgzm_Contact".
That's it. TOs without the "gz..." prefix are not considered for sync and will be removed when you hit "refresh" on the configuration tab of GoZyncHosted.
You may want to also delete QuickContact from the list of files available for download on the Downloads tab of GoZyncHosted.
